6 things i learned by organizing a russian concert tour in germany (14.-25.05.2010)

  1. be prepared for obstacles: negativity from within or without may come in the way if you want to spread sy. For instance, after i decided spontaneously to join the tour through germany i instantly started to feel sick. A headache kept growing, my nose started running; i imagined myself having fever on an 8 hour trip by car. Luckily my intuition was stronger and i went with the musicians. As soon as we entered the motorway my symptoms were gone.
  2. plan, but stay flexible: planning is good. Few things happen without planning. By the way Germans love planning. But organizing a sahaj event is a little different from organizing any other event. You must notice the point when you have to stop organizing and let go. At some point during the tour i was desperate, because we were running out of money and i didn´t know how to pay for the petrol and for drinks and snacks during travelling. Few hours after i had discovered that hole in my purse a concert was given in Freiburg. They asked the audience for donations. Without telling anyone about our money problem the yogis from Freiburg and around generously decided to gift the 250€ they collected during the concert for the tour and the welfare of the musicians.By the way at the end of the tour i was sitting together with another yogini sorting out the mess of bills and counting the money. I had a hole in my nabhi fearing we would end up with a big minus. Can you believe that we found out that accounts in the end were exactly balanced?
  3. the sahaj magic only unfolds when you do something: i´m a german and i´m sceptical by nature. i´m really not this kind of person who sees signs everywhere. In fact due to my analytical mind i have often problems to see the divine work in everyday life. On the tour it happened that on one day we had to travel for 5-6 hours, perform a concert and afterwards travel 2 ½ hours more in the night. The driver and i started singing bhajans loudly in order to keep him awake. Vibrations were flowing and we had one of these rare magical moments – a feeling of oneness, the common mission to enlighten people in germany unifying us (the musicians sleeping in the back). Suddenly a small family problem caught my attention. I just thought „Mother Kundalini, i leave it to You.“. Exactly in that moment a truck overtook us and on its walls was written large „Everything will be fine.“ Reading that i felt my kundalini rising. I doubt that i could have made an experience like this sitting alone at home.
  4. be prepared for miracles: even if they´re little. Shortly before one of the concerts a lady singer was desperately asking for a safety pin to fix her sari. She had forgotten to take one – she knew it exactly. She put the sari on a chair and kept on asking everybody. But nobody could give her any. At some point she lifted up the sari again and on the chair there was lying a safety pin of completely unknown origin.
  5. everything will be fine: in spite of all the ups and downs and controversal discussions between the organizers ahead of and during the tour in the end all went very well. Approximately 500 people received their self-realisation. On three concerts the audience was so swept away by the fantastic music that people started dancing. (note: to make a german dance is a tough job.;-) )
  6. we´re all a big family: despite different cultural backgrounds, slightly different conditionings and in some points different opinions we grew more and more together during the tour. In the end we felt like family members bound by a vivid, fragrant bond – by Sahaj love.Thank you to our brothers and sisters from russia who undertook great efforts to come and help spread Sahaja Yoga in Germany!Annika
